About Mills Lodge
Mills Lodge is in the Canterbury foothills west of Christchurch and is dedicated to horse breeding and trekking. It is just a short distance off the sealed road and offers magnificent high country views and river riding.
Mills Lodge stud's focus is the breeding and production
of attractive, amiable, user-friendly horses suitable for all ages and experience levels. Denise Wright, the owner of Mills Lodge, has a wide experience of breeding and has been involved with horses for over 40 years. As Mills Lodge is a stud farm there are always plenty of foals to play with.
Denise has run the horse trekking business from Mills Lodge for the past 10 years. Horse trekking is a significant interest of Denise's and she has participated in many treks in various parts of the country including involvement with the Christchurch Hunt Club.

Mills Lodge has 8 to 10 horses available for trekking at any time with around 6 people being the optimum number for a trek. Extra staff can be brought in for larger treks.
The rivers, mountains, forest, and countryside make trekking at Mills Lodge an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
